Felipe came round for dinner and we had this after having a bottle of Tilenus.

This wine was very poor. We didn't finish the bottle and I threw what was left away the following day.

Had this wine at Paolo's leaving do. It was OK, but nothing special.

My goodness me, what a great wine this is. It's one that grows on you from the second glass onwards.

Rafa brought this to the barbecue. It was good but probably would have been better out of proper glasses (not cañas).
Rafa lo trajo a la torrá. Estaba bueno, pero probablemente hubiera sido mejor beberlo de copas buenas (y no cañas).

Villar and Nete came this afternoon. I opened this and Villar and myself drank half the bottle. A lovely fruity wine, dense, with body.

Villar y Nete me hicieron una visita esta tarde. Abrí esta botella y Villar y yo tomamos la mitad. Un vino afrutado, denso, con cuerpo.

Vaqueyras 2003 (27/1/07)

A quite delicious French wine, red. Given to me by Claude. I opened it at lunchtime with the idea to drinking half of it today and maybe half tonight or tomorrow. I finished it within 2 hours. I drank this wine with a chick pea, sausage and "garrofón" stew I'd made, whilst I watched Luton Town vs Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup. Rovers won 0-4.

Un tinto delicioso francés. Me lo dió Claudio. Lo abrí a la hora de comer con la idea de beber la mitad hoy y quizá la otra mitad esta noche o mañana. Lo acabé en 2 horas. Tomé este vino con un estofado de garbanzos, salachichas y garrofón que hice yo, mientras veía Luton Town contra Blackburn Rovers en la Copa Inglesa. Ganamos 0-4.

It was Balbi's mum's birthday and we went out for a meal and had this quite spectacular Ribera del Duero wine. The bouquet was unbelievable. It smelled of incense!!
Fue cumpleaños de la madre de Balbi y salimos a comer. Tomamos este Ribero del Duero espectacular. El olor fue increíble. Olía a incienso.

I invited Felipe round on Saturday morning and we drank this with barbecued meats and toasted bread. A very good red wine from Rioja. Forgot to take a photo of the label.
Invité a Felipe a almorzar un sábado por la mañana y tomamos este tinto con carne torrada y pan tostado. Un tinto muy bueno de Riojo. Se me olvidó hacer una foto de la etiqueta.
